Dr. Stephen Walters grew up in Birmingham, Michigan. He completed his undergraduate education at Miami University of Ohio and his Medical Degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and a glaucoma Fellowship at Columbia University, where he trained with Dr. Jeffrey Liebmann and Dr. George (Jack) Cioffi.
Dr. Walters specializes in the clinical and surgical management of both cataract and glaucoma patients. This includes routine and complex cataract surgery as well as traditional and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, making use of iStent, Kahook goniotomy, XenGel Stents, CPC/Micropulse, and ECP.
Dr. Walters is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Dr. Walters is a staff member of the Department of Ophthalmology at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.
