- Cataract Surgery
Dr. Raphtis grew up in Iowa and attended the University of Iowa where he received both his undergraduate bachelor’s degree and subsequently his Medical Degree. His ophthalmology residency was completed at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Eye Foundation where he was Chief Resident. He has published work on eye lid surgery complications, use of NSAID drops for corneal pain, and participated in research on ocular side effects of ED medicines. He has been in practice in Warren, Michigan since 1998 where he specializes in anterior segment surgery, such as cataract and Lasik, as well as in treating glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.
Dr. Raphtis is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology; he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Michigan State Medical Society, and Macomb County Medical Society. He is a staff member of Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Campus, and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
