Dr. Robert Lesser graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University in Biochemistry and Biomedical Engineering and completed his medical degree at the University of Rochester. His ophthalmology residency was completed at Henry Ford Hospital and received advanced training in glaucoma surgery from world renowned H. Saul Sugar, M.D. He remained at Henry Ford Hospital as a Senior Staff Ophthalmologist for 21 years. During that time he served as Director of Glaucoma Services for the entire Henry Ford Health System, as well as Division Head of the Troy subspecialty center.
Dr. Lesser has numerous publications, book chapters, videos and CD-ROMs. He has been an invited speaker at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society and the Association for Cataract & Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Lesser is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology; he is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Michigan State Medical Society, American Glaucoma Society, Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Oakland County Medical Society and American Medical Association.
